WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) is proud to announce that Katrina Toews, director of The Washington Ballet @ THEARC, will be presented with the Bethel College Young Alumnus Award on March 29, 2010. Ms. Toews will lead a group of her students from THEARC in a performance Sunday, March 28, at 7:30 PM, and receive the Young Alumnus Award in convocation Monday, March 29, at 11 AM, where she will speak on Leaps and Bounds: From Goessel, Kansas, to Washington, D.C. While both events are free and open to the public, an offering will be taken at the Sunday performance to help cover travel costs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) kicks off 2010 with special collaborations and site-specific works including company apprentice Andile Ndlovu’s solo performances at the Transformer Gallery, The Phillips Collection and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art. Additional upcoming performances include WAM! (wolfgang amadeus mozart), TWB’s Studio Company collaboration with The In Series, January 23-24 and 30-31, and TWB Artistic Director Septime Webre’s world premiere of The Great Gatsby at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater, February 24-28.

Washington, D.C. – The Washington Ballet (TWB) presents Artistic Director Septime Webre’s Washington, DC-themed adaptation of The Nutcracker, December 10-27, 2009 at the historic Warner Theatre. This will mark the 6th anniversary of this one-of-a-kind production, which previews at THEARC in Southeast DC from December 3-5.
