Today we performed excerpts of Twyla Tharp's Nine Sinatra Songs for Mrs. Obama at the White House. What an amazing experience! We spent the day there and about 15 of our students took dance workshops and then watched the show. It honored retiring Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s Artistic Director Judith Jamison and was directed by Damien Woetzel. Morgann Frederick and Jonathan Jordan knocked it out of the ball park. Our students from THEARC so impressed the White House staff they've invited back to perform Michael Jackson's Thriller as a surprise for the First Lady on Halloween and to tour the White House to see the holiday decorations! And pictures below.
