Hello There TWB Family,

So I have been extremely busy these past few days that sometimes it is hard to keep up with everything! Can you believe that I have taken some time to experience the dance world in Istanbul? And man it is amazing; I don’t even know where to start. But I will say we are bringing back a treat from Turkey that I know you all will love!

First, while in Istanbul, not Constantinople, our very own Brooklyn Mack displayed his amazing talents on the concert stage and earned the title of “Grand Prix” in the Istanbul International Ballet Festival. I can personally say that it is certainly a pleasure to show the world the talent that The Washington Ballet has to offer. Furthermore, Brooklyn has proven is to be an integral component to the TWB family with his eye catching strong and passionate movements across the concert stage. For that I would like to extend a warm thank you for his dedication and a thank you to the TWB for the numerous amounts of support.

While out at and about, I had the chance to catch up with an old ballet friend, the great Vladimir Malakhov, who is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest dancers of his generation. Mr. Malakhov is truly an accomplished performing artist with numerous awards with first prizes from international competitions for his technical brilliance and lyrical eloquence. Vladimir was a judge in the Istanbul International Ballet Festival, and below is a photo of him, Brooklyn and me backstage.

And last, but not least! Do you guys remember that treat I was bringing back from Turkey, well his name is Melih Mertel and he will be joining the The Washington Ballet Company in the upcoming season. Melih is excited to join the company and I know that you guys are super excited for him to show you what Turkey has to offer. So if you have not subscribed to the season that is certain to SEDUCE your senses, don’t be late. I promise you will not want to miss Melih and some other additions to The Washington Ballet family.

Talk to you all soon!
