Hello!

In just a few days, our halls will be filled with arabesques, jetés and pirouettes. The Washington School of Ballet will welcome thousands new and returning students to our NW, SE and Alexandria campuses.

Likewise, our Company and Studio Company members will be returning for classes and rehearsals because in less than nine weeks we'll be opening Giselle!

We have some new faces to welcome for the 2013.14 season. Please join me in welcoming our newest Company members:

Francesca Dugarte                      Ekaterina Oleynik                      Tamako Miyazaki

Francesca Dugarte, who hails from Caracas, Venezuela. In 2011, Francesca was a contestant on the reality show, Amici di Maria de Fillippi in Rome.

Ekaterina (aka Katya) Oleynik, who is from Belarus. Most recently she was a principal with the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre in the Republic of Belarus.

And...
Tamako Miyazaki, who is originally from Tokyo, Japan. Some of you may remember Tamako when she danced with TWB as a Company member. She danced with TWB as a Studio Company member for two seasons.

Francesca, Ekaterina and Tamako will be joining Kateryna Derechyna, Aurora Dickie, Zachary Hackstock, Jonathan Jordan, Sona Kharatian, Hyun-Woong Kim, Tamás Krizsa, Corey Landolt, Brooklyn Mack, Andile Ndlovu, Jared Nelson, Maki Onuki, Morgann Rose and Luis R. Torres this season.

I'd also like to welcome our new Studio Company members:

Ariel Breitman                         Josue Justiz                         Carolyn Lippert

Marshall Whiteley                         Sukyung Park

Ariel (aka Ari) Breitman from Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania; Josue Justiz from Santiago, Cuba; Carolyn Lippert from Fresno, California; and Marshall Whiteley and Sukyung Park, who are joining the Studio Company after studying at TWB one year as trainees.

Join me in sending out a great big WELCOME BACK to all our dancers, and CHEERS to a brand new season!

Ciao for now~
