
ROBIN TASHA-FORD was born in New York and raised in Washington D.C. Robbin started dancing at the age of six. While choreographing and dancing in a community center talent show, she was spotted and granted a scholarship to attend The Jones and Hayworth School of Dance. Ms.Tasha-Ford later danced with the school’s company, The Capital Ballet. That same year Robbin also joined the D. C. Black Repertory Company. While she was there, she met Laverne Reed. Robbin was a principal soloist with Laverne Reed’s Dance Company until she left D.C. for college. Ms, Tasha-Ford is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts. While in High school, Robbin also danced and toured with the Washington Ballet under the direction of Mary Day, and premiered a ballet choreographed by Choo San Goo. Ms. Tasha-Ford, then moved on to New York. She received a scholarship to attend The Juilliard School. There she earned a BFA in dance. While attending Juilliard, Robbin got the opportunity to study with some of the original dancers in The Martha Graham Company, and The Limon Company. Also in New York, Robbin kept busy dancing with The Paul Taylor Company, Eleo Pomare, Otis Sallid, Keith Lee, and The Alvin Ailey Dance Company. After school, Tasha-Ford moved to LA., to pursue a more commercial side of the dance business. She has danced and choreographed with some of the Hollywood elite; Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder to name but a few, and for ten years she performed, and choreographed with The Isley Brothers. She danced for five years at The Academy Awards, with Debbie Allen. Ms. Tasha-Ford has danced and choreographed for stage, television, films, commercials, industrials, videos, and has had the opportunity to travel the world, pursuing her passion. Between her dance jobs, Robbin has always enjoyed teaching. She has taught and choreographed at Loyola Marymount, and Spellman Universities. For two years, she was assistant Artist Director, and Ballet Mistress for “The Robinson Project”, a LA. Performing Arts Company. For the last year, Ms. Tasha-Ford has been traveling the country-teaching dance and dance education seminars to children and adults.
