Adult Classes

NW Campus

The Washington School of Ballet (TWSB) offers open adult classes on a drop-in basis throughout the year, and students may join classes at any time of the year-- no audition or pre-registration is necessary. We encourage students who are unsure about their level to attend a beginner class on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays and after class, discuss their placement with the instructor.

The Washington School of Ballet has no required dress code for adult students. We do encourage students to wear a leotard, tights and ballet slippers, but students are welcome to wear clothing that is comfortable and allows easy movement. Hair should be pulled back from the face and off of the neck.

Cost: Single classes cost $17 when using a cash or check or $19 when using a credit card. A class card, consisting of 10 classes, costs $150 with cash/check or $170 with a credit card.
Please note, class cards are NON-REFUNDABLE but are transferable. All sales are final.

All classes are held at The Washington School of Ballet located at 3515 Wisconsin Avenue, NW. TWSB is near the Cleveland Park and Tenleytown stops on the Metro Red Line, and several buses serve our location. For more information about getting to the school, please visit wmata.com.

Adult classes are taught by Stephen Baranovics, Sonia DeVille Cronmiller  and Aaron Jackson. Click here to learn more about The Washington School of Ballet faculty members.

Please Note. The Washington School of Ballet will not hold adult classes at the NW Campus on the following dates: February 17, 2014; April 20, 2014; May 26, 2014; July 4, 2014.

The Washington Ballet has a policy to start classes on time and as is the tradition of ballet, students are expected to be here at the start of class. Out of respect to teachers and fellow students, anyone arriving fifteen minutes will no longer be permitted to enter class for any reason. Thank you for your cooperation
