The Washington Ballet is the only major American ballet company with a thriving campus in a low-income neighborhood. Our goal is to create a national model for equity in ballet training with a focus on ensuring parity among our school campuses.

With Company dancers from 15 countries and nearly 2,000 students of all races and cultures, we have a responsibility to exemplify diversity and make dance inclusive, accessible and equitable.
Education & Scholarships
TWB brings excellence and dedication to all students regardless of age, entry-level ability or financial barriers. Low-income students have the opportunity to cultivate creativity, collaboration, confidence, and higher academic achievement through scholarship support.
World Premieres
We believe in innovation. Each season, The Washington Ballet commissions three world-premieres, created specifically for our company dancers by renowned choreographers. Additionally, Artistic Director Julie Kent curates uniquely choreographed productions of classical story ballet masterpieces specifically for our performance venues and dancers.
Military Initiatives
Supporting free tickets for military families to attend performances, in partnership with the USO.
