The Washington Ballet’s city-wide Dance For All event returns every Spring with a full month of dance events and activities! Dance For All is a community engagement initiative that brings the joy and artistry of dance to every quadrant in Washington, DC through free performances, demonstrations, and dance classes.

Children’s Story-time and Movement Class 

National Building Museum
Thursday, May 9th, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM 

Join The Washington Ballet for a special engagement at The National Building Museum. Join us for a read aloud of Alice in Wonderland, followed by a Creative Movement class inspired by the story and ballet version of this classic tale.

Pilates in the Park

Join The Washington Ballet and company dancer Samara Rittinger for a Pilates inspired mat class on the Riverfront, a revitalizing way to kick start your day. Bring your yoga mat or towel and participate in this free outdoor fitness class as you overlook the water front.

Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum
Wednesday, May 22nd, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join The Washington Ballet for a special engagement at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum for an exploration of what makes you who you are. Explore identity with us and educators from the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum. Express yourself with movement, music, and more at this week’s Storytime. Get inspired by a close look at Mis Cuatro Gracias (Brendan, Camilo, Carlos, Jorge), by artist Aliza Nisenbaum; read Why Am I Me?, by Paige Britt; and make our own artworks celebrating ourselves!

Join us for an exploration of how we express who we are. We will look closely at Your oceanic feeling by Olafur Eliasson; read Julián Is a Mermaid, by Jessica Love; and participate in our own playful art-making.

CityCenterDC Plaza Performances

Performances begin at 6:30PM

TWB returns to CityCenterDC Plaza this June with three FREE performances! The Washington Ballet company dancers will light up the plaza with a mixed-rep performance to close out the Spring Dance For All season.

Children’s Storytime Activations

TWB’s Storytime and Movement Class is a 45-minute to 1-hour program designed to give young readers an enjoyable experience through literature and dance. Participants will listen to the reading of a children’s book and participate in an interactive dance class that explores storytelling through movement.

Library Activation dates coming Fall 2024.
