TWB Commitment to DEIB
TWB’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
At The Washington Ballet, we are striving to center diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) as the foundation for our approach to artistic experiences on the stage, education of ballet, community engagement, and internal work culture. We are committed to creating a culture that prioritizes presenting artists & points of view that better reflect the dynamism of DC. Through our community partnerships and campus locations, we are intentional about bringing opportunities to diverse communities throughout the DMV.
Cognizant of the historical context of the art form and The Washington Ballet’s place in this ever evolving space, we turn a critical lens on our organization to evaluate practices, policies and biases as we forge an intentionally inclusive path forward.
We recognize that DEIB work is not a one-time effort, but a continual process that requires intentionality in all aspects of our art and daily work. As an organization, we are dedicated to creating an environment that values diversity, promotes an inclusive culture and establishes a profound sense of belonging for each member of our community. We weave these core values into everything we do and will continue to do so in pursuit of our mission at The Washington Ballet.
