Erica Bondarev Rapach is an accomplished leader in brand innovation, strategic communication, and social responsibility reflected in her career that crosses arts administration, experiential marketing, higher education, and individual identity. Her journey is marked by a relentless pursuit of creativity and transformative change, shaping cultural and educational landscapes through her visionary leadership and deep commitment to fostering artistic expression, audience building, and community engagement.
Erica has held arts marketing and executive management positions at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, American University, and the .ART domain registry. She serves on the Advisory Board for UMD’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and is a volunteer editor for the American Journal of Arts Management. She is past board chair for Dance Exchange and a former Leadership Fellow with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
An entrepreneur and creative at heart, Erica recently launched a small startup that designs textiles using Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is authoring a book on personal brand leadership and leveraging change for the good. Committed to a more sustainable future, Erica volunteers as a Remake Ambassador, advocating for fair wages and environmentally safe practices in the fast fashion industry.
Arts management found Erica over 5,000 miles from home, in Russia where she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer and played violin with the Volgograd Symphony Orchestra. Successfully funding, planning, and executing all aspects of the ensemble’s first-ever U.S. tour led her to American University’s graduate program and her now 20-year career. She is the mother of two bicultural, teenage daughters who are artistic and non-conforming, and is married to a creative builder and fixer who is her biggest supporter.
