Studio Company Dancer

Ida Cacanindin grew up in Asheville, North Carolina training at Southside Dance Studio and The Ballet Conservatory of Asheville. She then spent her sophomore and junior years of high school at the UNC School of the Arts. During summers she trained at the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and at Miami City Ballet School.

At UNC School of the Arts, Ida had the opportunity to perform roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Principal in Balanchine’s Symphonie Concertante, and in Swan Lake Pas de Trois. For her senior year of high school, Ida trained with Miami City Ballet School and was promoted to apprentice with Miami City Ballet for the 2023/2024 season. While with Miami City Ballet, Ida performed in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Divertimento No. 15, Symphony in 3 Movements, and Serenade, John Cranko’s Romeo and Juliet, Jerome Robbins’ West Side Story Suite, and Alexei Ratmansky’s Swan Lake. With Miami City Ballet School, she performed as the Sanguinic Principal in George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, as well as principal roles in Durante Verzola’s Classical Symphony, Ballet de Cour, and Mouvement Joyeux, and Ariel Rose’s Balletto Windsor.

Ida joins The Washington Ballet Studio Company for the 2024/2025 season.
