Vice Chair
Board, Board of Directors
Luanne Adams came to Washington DC as an undergraduate theater major at The Catholic University. Her enthusiasm for the performing arts had been intensified by a Junior Year Abroad in London that led to her permanent status as an expat Mississippian. Making the short leap from Drama to Psychology, a doctorate in Clinical Psychology followed. The Lab School of Washington, an independent arts-based school for students with learning differences, is an institution that combines cutting edge science with a fundamental belief in the power of art to develop the mind and the spirit. Dr. Adams spent over two decades as a part of that award-winning institution as Director of the Psychological Services. Early retirement has led to opportunities to serve her new community on the Chesapeake Bay. Dr. Adams co-chaired the Board of Trustees for the Eagle Cove School, an independent elementary school, for several years. She has served on the Gibson Island Corporation and Gibson Island Club Boards as well as chairing the Gibson Island Club House Committee. She continues to serve as Vice President of her condominium board in Georgetown. Arts education is Luanne’s primary chosen mission. The Washington Ballet’s commitment to their school in addition to the premier artistic performances makes this institution one allying well with her heart.
