Board of Directors
Beth Kohlhoss enjoys a lifelong devotion to the art of dance. Her stage experience spans a
17-year performing career, dancing in productions that took her across the world in such
varied venues as The Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater to a cliff overhang on the island
of Sicily. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland as a recipient of
a Creative and Performing Arts Scholarship in dance. Upon graduation, Beth managed the
dance company, Improvisations Unlimited where she more than doubled the company’s
revenue in two years. She has self-produced dance concerts, as well as spearheaded a
creative movement program for autistic children through the MARYLAND-NATIONAL
CAPITAL PARK AND PLANNING COMMISSION. As an alumna of The Washington School of
Ballet (1970-74), she was privileged to return to The Washington Ballet as a member of The
Women’s Committee (TWC) for 16 years. In that time, Beth served as President in the 2009-
10 and 2020-21 seasons, co-chaired TWC’s Wine Tasting and the Sugar Plum Bazaar,
initiated the Dancer Liaison program, and along with Kay Kendall, launched the
Underwriting campaign. In 2022 Beth joined the Board of Ambassadors. Currently, she is in
the beginning stages of developing a creative retreat for dancers and choreographers in
Montgomery County’s Agricultural Reserve. She resides in Potomac with her husband,
Charles.
