2025 Student Auditions for Alice (in wonderland)

Audition Information
General Audition Information
Auditions are open to students in good standing* who are enrolled in 2024.25 School Year programs at our NW and SE campuses.
The children’s cast have specific height and level requirements. Please read requirements carefully before registering. Note that there are a limited number of roles. Not every auditioning student will be cast.
Casting is determined by both the repetiteurs and the artistic team. Depending on the cast size or other changes to the production, not every auditioning student may be cast.
Auditions are level-specific and cannot be rescheduled. If a student is unable to participate in the audition, they will not be cast. Students who are cast must be present at ALL the following rehearsal weekends and all scheduled tech and dress rehearsals, and all performance dates.
*Good Standing qualifies as being up to date on all payments, and students must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance rate in classes.
Important Registration Dates
Registration will open on January 10th at 12 am and close on January 23rd at 11:59 pm. Registration will be through our ACTIVE system and the link to register will be found on the Student Performance Audition Page. Registration is required to audition. There is no additional cost to audition.
Spring Performance Conflict for Students: Spring Performance rehearsals for NW Level 1A, 1B, 2 & 3, and SE Level 1A, 1N, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5 & 6 overlap with ALICE rehearsals. Students must choose to participate in either ALICE or Spring Performance. They will not be eligible to participate in both productions.
Audition Date and Location
Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Main Building (3515 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016).
Audition Times, Levels, and *Height Requirements
*Due to costume sizing, students must meet the height ranges in addition to the level requirements to audition.
Levels 1A, 1B, 2, 3 within height range
- Check in: 9:30-10:00 am
- Audition: 10:00-11:30 am
- Heights: 3’11”-4’11”
Levels 3 & 4A, 4B within height range
- Check in: 11:30-12:00 pm
- Audition: 12:00-1:00 pm
- Heights: 3’11”-4’6″
Levels 5, 6,7 within height range
- Check in: 1:00-1:30 pm
- Audition: 1:30-2:30 pm
- Heights: 4’2″-5’1″
Note: Due to costume sizing, students must meet the specified height and level requirements to audition. For students in Level 3, if you are between the heights of 4’7”-4’11”, please attend the earlier audition time. If you are a Level 3 student who is between the heights 3’11”-4’6”, you will attend the 12 pm audition.

*These rehearsals are during the School’s Spring Break. If you are unable to attend this rehearsal period, please do not audition.

Parent Information Session & Important Information
- Parent Information Session: Held via Teams on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 7 pm. Link to the meeting is to be posted on the password protected Student Resources page. (password: FirstPosition).
- Casting Decisions: Casting is determined by the repetiteurs and the artistic team. Roles are limited, and not all auditioning students will be cast. Casting will be sent out by Friday, January 31th
- Rehearsals & Performances: Attendance is mandatory for all scheduled rehearsal weekends, technical and dress rehearsals, and performance dates.
- If a student is unable to audition or participate in the required dates, they cannot be cast.
- Spring Performance Conflict for Students: Spring Performance rehearsals for NW Level 1A, 1B, 2 & 3, and SE Level 1A, 1N, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5 & 6 overlap with ALICE rehearsals. Students must choose to participate in either ALICE or Spring Performance. They will not be eligible to participate in both productions.
- Tickets: We aim to have student performance dates and ticket information when casting is released.
- Good Standing: Students must maintain a minimum of 80% class attendance and be up to date on all payments.
2025 Student Sign-up for the SE Campus Spring Performance
The SE Campus Spring Performance will be May 31, 2025 (date subject to change) at THEARC
The SE Campus Spring Performance is the exciting culmination of a year of hard work by our dedicated students! It will be a celebration of dance including a special ballet staging as well as performances from our modern, jazz, and contemporary classes.

General Sign-up Information
- Sign-up for the 2025 SE Campus Spring Performance is open to students in good standing* who are enrolled in 2024.25 School Year programs at our SE campus in Lower Division levels 1a, 1b, 2, 3, and Teen Program. Upper Division levels 4a, 4b, 5, and 6 have mandatory participation and will automatically be signed up.
- Sign-up includes a $100 performance fee to help off-set production costs plus an additional per-level costume fee (the costume fee will be set by January 2025).
- This additional costume fee will be used towards costume items that will be used in the performance and taken home by students afterwards.
- Tickets for the SE Campus Spring Performance will go on sale by April 1.
- TWSB has the right to decide if the student has missed too many rehearsals; this may be cause for non-participation.

2025 Student Sign-up for the NW Campus Spring Performance
The NW Campus Spring Performance will run May 31-Jun 1 at THEARC
The NW Campus Spring Performance is the culmination of a year filled with an incredible amount of hard work, dedication, and passion. Join us in celebration of the leaps and bounds these young dancers have made by enthusiastically applauding their achievements as they dance on stage with their peers.

- Sign-up for the 2025 NW Campus Spring Performance is open to students in good standing* who are enrolled in 2024.25 School Year programs at our NW campus in Lower Division levels 1a, 1b, 2, 3, and Upper Division levels 4a, 4b, 5, 6, 7, 8. (Trainee Program students do not sign up, they will automatically participate.)
- All students who sign up will be assigned to a cast. Once casting is assigned, we cannot take requests to change your child’s performance day and time. All students must be available for all performances in case another student becomes ill or injured.
- Sign-up includes a $125 performance fee to help off-set production costs plus an additional per-level costume fee (the costume fee will be set by January 2025).
- This additional costume fee will be used towards costume items that will be used in the performance and taken home by students afterwards.
- Tickets will go on sale by April 1.
- TWSB has the right to decide if the student has missed too many rehearsals; this may be cause for non-participation. The performance fee is non -refundable .

Upper Division Rehearsals
Upper Division levels have built-in class rehearsals during repertoire class.
Saturday afternoon “put-together” rehearsals for combined class works will be held in April and May. For a detailed rehearsal schedule, please visit the “NW Campus” tab on the Student Resources page.
Lower Division Rehearsals
Lower Division levels rehearse Saturday afternoons from February through early May.
